Lynn Simmonds is HED’s Communications Associate responsible for outreach activities that include print and online content development, maintenance of HED’s website and social networking tools, supporting public relations events, and overseeing the marketing opportunities.

Ms. Simmonds has communications experience in copy editing, web production and product management for 1105 Media Group, an integrated business-to-business information agency focused on technology, products, policy, regulation, and news. She also worked as a copy editor and page designer for The Charlotte Sun in Florida.

Ms. Simmonds holds a master’s degree in public administration with an international management concentration from American University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Howard University. She has traveled throughout West Africa and served as a girls’ education and empowerment agent with Peace Corps in Togo.
